The future has arrived at Blacktown

Blacktown Hospital senior staff explain the new models of care which will be used in the new Acute Services building.

Blacktown Hospital’s acute services building is due to open in 2019 and will include a women’s health, maternity, paediatric and emergency department.

Information sessions regarding the new models of care for these services are being rolled out to staff to inform them of nursing improvements.

Blacktown Hospital director of nursing and midwifery Danielle Levis said these sessions allowed different departments to gain an understanding of how they will provide care into the future.

“Blacktown is expanding not only with the redevelopment of the hospital but also the population growth and demands this places on the health service,” Ms Levis said.

“It’s important that our staff interact and share information on best practice and ways we can continue to deliver word-class healthcare.”

Additional sessions will be held early in 2019 to inform staff of any further developments.
