Nine out of 12 positions on the WSLHD executive are occupied by women – a fact not missed by The Daily Telegraph.

The Tele described our leaders as ‘trailblazing’, and said they were ‘remarkable in the male-dominated medical world’.

Women hold only 16 per cent of chief executive jobs in Australia, and 37 per cent of all management jobs.

Sue-Anne redmond, the general manager of Blacktown and Mount Druitt Hospitals told The Tele women and men brought different qualities to their jobs.

“It’s a matter of surrounding yourself with skilled and bright people,” she said.
