In just one week, Paper-Lite has transformed Westmead Hospital.

Up to 3000 users are now live on electronic medical records at the hospital after a successful first week.

The massive project – which will continue until May 26 – switches patient records from paper to digital format, providing access to them anywhere, anytime.

Critical care and medicine, the Cardiac Catheterisation Lab, the Division of Surgery and Anaesthetics, the Division of Medicine and Cancer Care, Women’s Health and the entire inpatient areas are now live.

Outpatients will make the switch from Monday, May 8, 2017.

Westmead Hospital general manager Andrew Newton described Paper-Lite as “a game changer”.

“The commitment of our clinicians, IT people, business analysts and frontline leaders to support such a significant change has been unparalleled,” he said.

Local coaches and the Paper-Lite team will continue to provide support in coming weeks; they’re easy to spot in bright green t-shirts and vests.
