WSLHD celebrates Patient Experience Week

Patient Experience Week is held annually to celebrate the importance of patient experience in healthcare.
To mark the week, staff from Westmead and Auburn hospitals used WSLHD’s new patient experience survey My Experience Matters to ask consumers for their feedback.
My Experience Matters is an Australian-first, multi-channel patient survey platform. The survey invites patients, carers and their families to provide feedback on their experience while in hospital, using free-standing kiosks and tablets. Alternatively, they can complete the survey online when they return home.
Patient experience insights, received in real-time, are used to improve services for health consumers and their families.
This year, Patient Experience Week was extra exciting because it marked the reciept of the 1000th response to the My Experience Matters survey.
“My Experience Matters is important because it provides our patients, carers and families with an easy way to provide feedback,” said WSLHD patient and carer experience manager Kay de Ridder.
“We have received 1000 responses from people sharing their ideas about what we do well and what we can improve. We are already using this information to make improvements to services and to celebrate the wonderful work our staff do every day.”
