Blacktown vollies recognised in National Volunteer Week
Blacktown Hospital’s hard-working volunteers were thanked for their efforts this week, as National Volunteer Week was marked across the country.

The volunteers enjoyed a thank you event on May 11, complete with a guessing competition, dress-up session and photo booth.

Staff also had the opportunity to pay homage to the vollies, writing down what they loved about the volunteers and then placing it on a special comments tree.
Blacktown Hospital volunteer manager Janice Lowe said many volunteers donated their time six days a week, supporting patients, staff and visitors across the hospital.
Volunteers from Pastoral Care and Palliative Support also attended the thank you event.

National Volunteer Week is held annually from May 8 – 14 to recognise the generous contribution of the nation’s volunteers.
