Farewell to Belle

Fiona Saunders and Belle Mangan

Western Sydney Local Health District’s executive director (corporate governance) Belle Mangan officially retired today.

Belle had worked at WSLHD for many years, building the Corporate Governance team, and was responsible for several areas including medico-legal support, corporate records, privacy, enterprise risk, workers compensation, work health safety, medical asset management and fleet services.

Belle started her career as a specialist coronary care nurse before working in several metropolitan and rural LHDs.

WSLHD chief executive Danny O’Connor said Belle had been an extraordinary public servant.

“Belle has been constantly hard working and productive and has lived the goal of continuous improvement in the clinical services, hospitals, area health services and districts she has worked for,” he said.

“I have benefited enormously from her honesty and integrity in attending to many of the complicated – and often unseen – matters required to keep health services operating.

“Belle has always been a strong advocate for her teams, always built talent around her and left good people in place when she has moved on.

“I regret she is now moving on in a different way and that I will not be working with her anymore.”

Belle was farewelled with a special morning tea.
