NAIDOC Week celebrations at Riverstone

Members of WSLHD’s Aboriginal Health Unit attended one of the largest NAIDOC celebrations in western Sydney at Riverstone on July 4, providing health checks and other health-related services to the community.
Mount Druitt Community Health Aboriginal health worker Vickie Mason was delighted with the attendance of Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people.
“It was great to see so many people celebrating NAIDOC Week from all walks of life,” she said.
“They were all keen to celebrate the culture and history of Aboriginal people; loads of people visited the Pit Stop (health tent) where they were had blood pressure and blood glucose level checks, as well as receiving relevant health information.”
