Bye bye UCrane Bolt

Westmead Hospital’s mega crane, UCrane Bolt, had his last stand this week as he prepares to take off an a much-deserved “holiday.”
UCrane Bolt will officially leave the site this weekend for a trip to the Bahamas after a busy six months working on the hospital’s new multi-storey car park.
The 34-metre crane was the first crane to work on the Westmead Redevelopment – the state’s biggest hospital project.
He played a vital role in building the new multi-storey car park, which wrapped up construction this week.
UCrane Bolt was named by patients from The Children’s Hospital at Westmead school, who were inspired by Olympic sprinter Usain Bolt.
ADO Construction workers Samuel Begbie, Myles Finlay, Donald Geale and George Forrester were on-hand on Thursday to farewell their favourite crane.
UCrane Bolt will move to The Children’s Hospital at Westmead site soon.
