$2m grant will build our translational research capacity

The Centre for Infectious Diseases and Microbiology – Public Health has been awarded a capacity building grant in Round 5 of the NSW Health Prevention Research Support Program which has been announced by the Ministry of Health.
This $2 million capacity building grant for 2017-2021 will allow the team of clinicians and academics from Western Sydney Local Health District, The University of Sydney and NSW Health Pathology to continue to expand their translational research in prevention, surveillance and control of communicable diseases of public health importance.
Investigators on this grant include: A/Prof Sharon Chen, Dr Mark Douglas, Prof Dominic Dwyer, Prof Lyn Gilbert, Prof Jon Iredell, Dr Jen Kok, Prof David Lewis, Prof Wieland Meyer, Dr Matthew O’Sullivan, A/Prof Vitali Sintchenko, Prof Tania, Sorrell, and Dr Cameron Webb.
The grant was one of seven made in this round of funding.
