Do you think consumer engagement has an impact in WSLHD?

Are you involved in committees or working parties which include consumer representatives? Do you work with patients to find out more about the service you provide and ask for their feedback? What are your experiences? Do you think there is any impact – positive or negative – when you interact with consumers in this way?

These are the questions WSLHD Community and Consumer Partnerships manager Coralie Wales wants you, your patients and our consumers to answer as part of an IMPACT study.

“This three year study measures our culture for consumer engagement as an organisation,” Coralie said.

“We are currently in the second year of this study and I personally thank those who have participated in this study.  It has taught us a lot about the impact and importance of consumer engagement in our patch.

“Last year staff told us they felt there was potential for consumer representation to make a difference, but they were uncertain about how to do it.

“Participants felt there was room to improve the impact of consumer representative involvement on decision making in our committees.

“We have developed a range of tools to assist you.”
