Wards across Westmead and Auburn hospitals are being encouraged to keep it down this month as part of a noise challenge across the district.

The My Experience Matters survey recently revealed more than 50 per cent of our patients say it’s too noisy at night.

So, in an attempt to quieten things across our hospitals, the patient and carer experience team is hosting a noise challenge in July, encouraging nursing staff to come up with solutions to combat noise on their wards.

The most improved wards at the end of July from Westmead and Auburn hospitals (according to patients!) will win the Patient Experience Superstar Award and a goodie basket to share among staff.

So far, the temporary short stay unit is in the lead at Auburn Hospital while B4b/c is leading at Westmead Hospital.

Good luck – and sssssssh!
