‘Visits to chemo were quite enjoyable’
The compassionate staff at Crown Princess Mary Cancer Centre have done what most would think impossible: made visits to the chemotherapy day suite “quite enjoyable”.
The incredible praise came from patient George Samways, who had a six-week course of chemo and daily radiotherapy after lung cancer was diagnosed earlier this year.
His three-plus hour treatment sessions passed quickly because of the quality of care he received, he said.
“The nurses were very caring, most attentive – and how they retain a permanent sense of humour escapes me,” Mr Samways said.
He also praised CPMCC radiologists, oncologists, the blood collection team and reception.
