Westmead nurses prep for Oxfam trek
Westmead Hospital nurses Jill Waring, Sharron Eather, Jane Sinclair and Claire Macbean are swapping their scrubs for joggers, as they ramp up their training for the upcoming Oxfam Trailwalker.
The foursome are set to undertake the 50km walk on August 26, raising money for Oxfam and its efforts to tackle poverty.
The nurses have 24 hours to complete the 50km trek, which starts at Bobbin Head and finishes at Sydney Harbour.
Claire said the team had already covered several sections of the track during their training – not without incident!
“There’s been blisters, wrong turns, a fall and challenges with drinking and bladders but we’re getting there,” she said.
Good luck team Stars of Trek!
