Books for bubs on International Literacy Day

The Australian Literacy Educators Association (ALEA) Sydney West popped into Westmead Hospital’s maternity ward on September 8 to give books to newborn babies and their parents to mark International Literacy Day.
The families received a copy of Mem Fox’s picture book Baby Bedtime and a pamphlet highlighting the importance of reading to children from a young age.
New parents Aruna Khadka, Ajaya Bhandari and their baby Ashlyn were thrilled to receive the books from ALEA volunteer Kathy Ferrari.
