Today (September 19) is Dietitians Day and Westmead Hospital’s dietitians are celebrating!
Clinical dietitians play a vital role in healthcare.
Westmead Hospital employs more than 25 clinical dietitians, who work in specialised areas of diabetes, weight management, gastroenterology, hepatology, intensive care, oncology, bone marrow transplant, surgery, respiratory, cystic fibrosis, aged care, eating disorders, inherited genetic metabolic disorders and food allergies.
Dietetic services to inpatients and outpatients are routinely provided by the nutrition and dietetics department.
Most dietitians are accredited with the Dietitians Association of Australia and are known as accredited practising dietitians (APDs).
WSLHD dietitians are celebrating Dietitians Day, in support of their APD colleagues who are passionate about inspiring and supporting Australians to live healthier lives through good nutrition.
