WSLHD’s My Experience Matters survey has been highly commended at the 2017 Australian Council for Healthcare Standards (ACHS) Quality Improvement Awards.

Winners and highly commended submissions were announced on September 28 at the ACHS/ACHSM Annual Joint Asia-Pacific Congress in Sydney.

Judges said the standard of submissions for this year’s Quality Improvement Awards were exceptionally high, and indicative of the many high-level quality improvements in healthcare facilities both in Australia and Internationally.

The My Experience Matters entry – titled “Patient Experience: Real Time, Real Engagement, Real Improvement” – was highly commended in the Non Clinical Service Delivery Category.

The category acknowledges demonstrated improvement and innovation in patient and/or consumer services and organisation-wide practice, and includes services provided by community and allied health organisations.

Judges assessed all eligible submissions on five ACHS principles: consumer focus, effective leadership, continuous improvement, evidence of outcomes and best practice;

Additional criteria included improvement in patient safety and care, measured outcomes, applicability in other settings, innovation in patient care and/or processes and relevance to the Quality Improvement Awards category.
