Everything you need to know about M4 roadworks

Night work on the M4 Western Motorway from Parramatta to Wentworthville will begin on Sunday, October 15.

Roads and Maritime Services will remove and replace large sections of asphalt, installing in-ground sensors and repainting road markings on the M4 Western Motorway between Pitt Street, Parramatta and Coleman Street, Wentworthville.

Workers will be on site for about 30 shifts between Sunday, October 15 and Thursday, November 30, weather permitting, from 9pm to 5am, Sunday to Friday.

There will be some noise associated with this work, but the work will be done in stages at different locations along the motorway.

There will be temporary traffic changes during our work hours to ensure the work zone is safe. Please plan extra travel time as delays of between 15 and 30 minutes are expected. Traffic controllers will be on site to direct the flow of traffic. Up to date information on ramp closures and detours will be displayed on electronic message boards along the road.

Ramp closures and detours will be in place and may affect travel times at the following locations:

  • Westbound Burnett Street off ramp – detour via Coleman Street for one shift
  • Westbound Coleman Street off ramp – detour via the Cumberland Highway for one shift
  • Eastbound Burnett Street off ramp – detour via the Great Western Highway to Church Street for one shift
  • Eastbound Church Street off ramp – detour via James Ruse Drive or Silverwater Rd for two shifts.
