Pastoral Care Week: Mt Druitt vollies thanked

Mount Druitt Hospital’s supportive and palliative care unit has thanked the facility’s pastoral care volunteers during Pastoral Care Week (October 22 – 28).
The pastoral care volunteers are a dedicated group, who visit the supportive and palliative care unit’s patients and families, assisting with their spiritual and emotional needs.
The ward’s staff wanted to celebrate their hard work, hosting a special morning tea on October 24 during Pastoral Care Week.
The volunteers were also presented with a small gift to say thank you for their help in the unit.
Nursing unit manager Trish Dalgleish thanked the volunteers: “we couldn’t do what we do without you.”
Pastoral Care Week is an opportunity for organisations to recognise the spiritual caregivers in their midst and the ministry that the caregivers provide.
This year’s theme is Hospitality: Cultivating Inclusion.
