Westmead Hospital visiting hours survey

At Westmead Hospital, a review of visiting hours and overnight stay procedures is underway.
As part of this work, a new online survey has been launched.
To guide the review, we are meeting regularly to discuss current visiting hour procedures and potential changes to the system.
The meeting group includes consumers, the Western Sydney Local Health District’s (WSLHD) patient and carer experience team, Westmead Hospital nursing staff, Aboriginal liaison staff from WSLHD and the Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network, and Westmead Redevelopment staff.
We have created an online survey so we can understand what patients, staff and visitors need, and understand current practices and visitor experiences.

The information collected from this survey will be crucial to the Westmead Redevelopment, as services and staff prepare for the new hospital building’s opening.
We know some carers and visitors spend many long days and nights in hospital – these can be exhausting and difficult times.
We welcome your experiences and thoughts.
The survey closes in early December.
If you prefer to discuss your experience with us, please contact the Westmead Redevelopment on 1800 990 296 or send an email to WSLHD-WestmeadProject@health.nsw.gov.au
