The Big Anxiety Festival – the world’s biggest festival of mental health and arts – hosted a breakfast this morning (November 2) with MP Tanya Plibersek.
The breakfast focused on LGBTQI mental health, with presentations from guest speakers including Big Anxiety Festival volunteers Marnie Cooper and Dr Stefanie Orlick, Prof Eileen Baldry and festival director Jill Bennett.
Marnie and Stefanie spoke passionately about their personal experiences.
Psychiatric registrar Stefanie said: “the Big Anxiety Festival challenges the status quo of mental health care in this country.”
Tanya Plibersek visited the immersive cinema installation, Parragirls Past, Present, following a stirring address where she expressed the hope that no child would ever again tell their story and not be believed.
The Big Anxiety Festival is on until November 11, 2017.
