Community gets crafty for Westmead

Origami master Yoshi Lawler at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead.

A big thank you to the hundreds of staff members, patients, carers, families, visitors and community members who have shared their vision for the Westmead Redevelopment Arts and Culture Strategy.

We have captured what we heard over cups of tea, during workshops and meetings, DURING visits to your workplaces and community centres, and through our online survey. You have been generous, enthusiastic and very creative.

A draft strategy will be reviewed by hospital executives at Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD), the Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network (SCHN) and the University of Sydney. The finalised strategy will be released next year.

Until then, we are starting to map the creative skills across the Westmead precinct and local community. We would like to hear if you have any hidden artistic talents. Are you an artist, photographer, sculptor or do you have another creative skill? Please contact us at WSLHD-WestmeadProject@health.nsw.gov.au.
