Once a nurse, always a nurse

It has proven difficult for Auburn Hospital’s retired registered nurse Kathy Williams to stay away from the place she loved and almost called home for 13 years!

This week Kathy visited her former work colleagues and friends of the Day Procedure Unit, after officially retiring from nursing in 2015. She found it challenging not to put on a uniform and help the staff with their duties!

The team from the Day Procedure Unit are kept busy by assisting with more than 30 surgeries each week day.  This includes removing kids’ tonsils, ear nose and throat surgery, hand plastic surgery, reconstructive surgery and the removal of lumps and bumps.  Nurses are caring, compassionate and dedicated people – what would we do without you!
