Christmas is just around the corner and the Children’s Ward at Mount Druitt Hospital is already receiving early Christmas presents for young patients.

More than 30 gifts have been delivered to the hospital from local couriers StarTrack at Minchinbury.

Mount Druitt Hospital’s Children’s Ward nurse unit manager Mildred Villason was delighted with this generosity from the staff at StarTrack.

“We appreciate the community and local businesses thinking of our young patients especially leading into Christmas,” Mildred said.

“Hospital is not an ideal place for kids to be in during summer or at Christmas, so anything that helps bring a smile to their face is appreciated.”

StarTrack Minchinbury staff social club chairman Frank Sweeney said our people are like a big family – most live locally and are really generous.

“They were very keen to donate Christmas presents and bring a smile to the faces of the kids in the local hospital,” Frank said.
