New Westmead multi-storey car park – what does it mean for patients/visitors?

The new multi-storey car park will open on Thursday, 7 December, 2017.

The new car park will be available for Westmead Hospital patients, carers, visitors and staff.

IMPORTANT: car parking numbers will change from Thursday, 7 December 2017 (please refer to above map for new numbers).

Existing car park locations have not changed.

There are two entry points into the new multi-storey car park. The main entry point is from Darcy Road and another entry point is from Institute Road.

Car park users coming from the M4 Motorway/Great Western Highway should access the car park from Darcy Road via Hawkesbury Road.

Car park users coming from Old Windsor Road, Windsor Road or James Ruse Drive/Cumberland Highway should access the car park from Institute Road via Redbank Road.

Secure Parking is responsible for the management of the multi-storey car park.

CAR PARK LOCATIONS

Patients, carers and visitors will have access to spaces in the multi-storey car park, along with the existing visitor car parks close to the main hospital building.

Car parking for patients has been designed to provide services as close to each entrance into Westmead Hospital as possible.

All visitor car parks are available to any patient, carer and visitor.

The hospital has a number of entrances with visitor car parking in close proximity, including:
 Westmead Centre for Oral Health – car park P1 (see map)
 Westmead Hospital main entrance – car park P2 (see map)
 Emergency Department & University Clinics – car park P4 (see map)
 Crown Princess Mary Cancer Care Centre (CPMCCC) – parking for visitors, carers and patients is available in car park P4 (see map)

TICKETS

All patient, carers and visitors must take a ticket on entry to the car parks, including the multi-storey car park.
All patients, carers and visitors must pay for parking at designated pay stations prior to returning to their vehicle.
Pay stations are available in the lift lobby of the multi-storey car park.

Alternative pay stations are available at the Westmead Hospital main entrance and the university clinics entrance.
Eftpos facilities for debit and credit cards are also available at the multi-storey car park exit points.

FEES
Car parking fees for Westmead Hospital are set by NSW Health. Westmead Hospital implements fees for visitors/patients, as per the NSW Health policy.
Parking fees for patients and visitors using the new multi-storey car park reflect patient/visitor parking fees across the Westmead campus.
The new NSW Health concessions for patients (and their carers) who require treatment over a period of time, are attending hospital more than twice a week and those experiencing financial hardship will also be available for patients/visitors using the new multi-storey car park.

Fees for visitor car parks:
• Up to 15 minutes – FREE
• 30 minutes to 1 hour – $6.60
• 1-2 hours – $9.70
• 2-3 hours – $13.00
• 3-4 hours – $15.20
• 4-5 hours – $17.40
 5 hours+ – $19.50
 Maximum daily rate – $19.50

CONCESSION RATES
 0 to 3 hours: free
 3+ hours: $5.40 (one exit only per 24 hours)
 3 day ticket: $10.90 (Frequent use allowing multiple entries and exits in a 3 day period)
 7 day ticket: $21.70 (Frequent use allowing multiple entries and exits in a 7 day period)
