Whopping $30k from vollies will go a long way

The Mount Druitt Hospital Auxiliary Ladies Committee have very generously donated over $30,000 worth of equipment to the physiotherapy department, speech pathology programs and the children’s ward.
The lovely volunteers run the hospital gift shop, hold stalls at Plumpton Marketplace each month, raise funds via Christmas and Easter raffles and engage with the local community at Bunnings on a regular basis – all to raise funds for Mount Druitt Hospital.
The hefty donation will provide a new bladder scanner for the children’s ward, which will enable clinicians to assess and treat children quicker without delay and incurring time-consuming processes.
The speech pathology will receive a new model, educational aids and updated text books for tracheostomy patients, a service which has experienced greater demand recently.
The physiotherapy department received a variety of new items including an ultrasound, exercise bike, stepper machine, anatomical models and a set of paediatric steps.
The dedicated auxiliary team have been raising funds for the hospital since 1973 and have donated over $700,000 worth of medical equipment during that time.
The latest donations not only benefit our patients, but also provide time-saving devices that will allow our staff to provide increased care and patient comfort.
Our thanks to all members of the Mount Druitt Hospital Auxiliary Ladies Committee and Happy International Volunteers Day!
