Blacktown Mayoress drops by with Christmas gifts

Mayoress Christmas visit
Blacktown Mayoress Anne Bali (pink coloured shirt) and Rissa McInnes from Blacktown Ponds Lions Club met with staff, parents and patients from the children’s ward.

Blacktown Ponds Lions Club and Blacktown Mayoress, Mrs Anne Bali, visited the Children’s Ward at Mount Druitt Hospital to distribute Christmas gifts to our patients this week.

The Lions and Lady Mayoress put smiles on faces and brought joy to the ward as they met with patients, parents, families and staff.

Clinical Nurse Educator Katherine Barry took the group on a tour of the ward and garden. expressing how difficult a hospital stay can be for patients and families at this time of year.

“On behalf of Mount Druitt Hospital’s children’s ward, I would like to acknowledge the generosity of the Blacktown Ponds Lions Club for their support and help in providing these lovely gifts for our patients” said Katherine.

“We try and create a home away from home with all the Christmas comforts and these gifts will help reduce anxiety and provide distraction.”

Staff were not forgotten with the Lions Club and Mayoress donating boxes of cookies which will be shared with parents and families on the ward.

Thank you Blacktown Ponds Lions Club and Blacktown Mayoress Mrs Anne Bali.
