A star in our ranks

2018 Parramatta Citizen of the Year and Consumer Representative Caroline Raunjak.

A huge congratulations to Western Sydney Local Health District consumer representative Caroline Raunjak who was named 2018 Citizen of the Year in the City of Parramatta’s Australia Day awards.

To be considered for an Australia Day Award, nominees must demonstrate a high level of achievement, determination and dedication in the Parramatta Local Government Area.

After losing her husband to cancer, Caroline has used her experience to help others and improve the lives of people battling the disease.

“I’m very honoured and still blown away. I’m very lucky I work with a fabulous group of people and have great backup which makes my job easier,” Caroline said.

Consumer representatives are community members who want to get involved in health reform.  They offer their time to work together with health service staff and provide their views on how our health system can improve.  Their work is essential in the future-thinking of health services.
