Kicking back with wine tonight? Think again

The “wine o’clock” trend among professionals who enjoy a ‘few glasses’ of alcohol to unwind after work could be a health ticking time bomb.
Doctors are warning that a few glasses of wine with dinner might be seen as culturally sophisticated, but it’s actually a form of chronic alcoholism that is increasing the rate of heart problems, liver disease and even alcohol induced dementia.
It comes as NSW Health reveals that 27.3 per cent of people aged 55-64 are consuming alcohol at levels that are posing a long-term risk to their health.
