Farewell Margaret Bannister

It is with deep sadness we share the news of the passing of Margaret Bannister, who was one of our most treasured and respected nurse unit managers in Western Sydney Local Health District’s (WSLHD) mental health service.
Margaret passed away on 27 February after a long battle with illness.
She commenced working with WSLHD in January 1990 and gave 28 years of her life towards the care of patients battling mental illness in western Sydney.
Margaret passionately organised Cumberland Hospital’s fundraising event Wistaria Fete for many years, a task which took up a lot of time outside of work, another testimony to her devotion to mental health.
WSLHD mental health director of nursing Charles MacMillan said Margaret’s enthusiasm and professionalism will be deeply missed by many.
“Margaret’s commitment and dedication to patient care was exemplary as was her dedication to the Wistaria Fete. We will all miss her,” said Charles.
For those wishing to attend Margaret’s funeral it will held on Wednesday 7 March at 3pm at Castlebrook Memorial Park, 712-746 Windsor Road, Rouse Hill.
