Westmead parking: Important information you should know

Car park
The eight-storey car park at Westmead Hospital is available for staff, patients and visitors.

Westmead Hospital staff, patients and visitors now have increased access to car parking thanks to the new multi-storey car park which opened late last year.

To ensure the safe use of our eight-storey car park and other car parking facilities around the campus, there are a few things you should know:

  • Please follow directional signage when driving through the multi-storey car park to ensure the safety of all users.
  • The speed limit within the Westmead Hospital car parks, Westmead health precinct and Cumberland Hospital is 20km/hr.
  • If you are a staff member, you are required to use your swipe pass on entering the multi-storey car park. Any staff member who takes a ticket on entry will be required to pay the maximum visitor daily parking rate of $19.50.
  • All staff are reminded that active signage indicates the availability of staff parking spaces in the multi-storey car park. If there are no staff spaces available in the multi-storey car park, staff are required to park in the alternative staff car parks – P9, P11, P12 and P13.

Westmead Hospital acting general manager Sue Anne Redmond said safety is the priority.

“With increased construction activity across the precinct as part of the Westmead Redevelopment project, there are more people, cars and construction vehicles on our roads, footpaths and in our car parks than ever before,” Sue Anne said.

“It is critical we ensure the safety of everyone.”
