Top marks for Mount Druitt Hospital

Patients and visitors have given Mount Druitt hospital’s medical and surgical wards top marks for it’s positive patient experience.
The departments were presented Patient Experience Superstar awards after scoring 100/100 in the My Experience Matters survey across multiple categories including kindness and respect, involvement in care, team communication, staff introductions and bedside handover.
Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD) Patient and Carer Experience manager Wendy Cain said the results speak for themselves.
“Mount Druitt Hospital has a great community culture and these results reflect that,” Ms Cain said.
The results were captured in the My Experience Matters survey which started in November.
Ward 2B nursing unit manager Julie Cort said having effective communication between the staff and patients is crucial.
“Involvement in care and bedside handover are important for patients so they feel comfortable and safe,” Ms Court said.
The My Experience Matters survey has been implemented across WSLHD to capture feedback from patient’s and carers on their experience when accessing our services.
