Passionate for football

More than 350 Australian and Egyptian fans have banded together at the Petersham RSL to watch Egypt play Uruguay in the World Cup.
The Australian Egyptian Forum Council vice-president and admission and bookings officer at Auburn Hospital Hany Mena organised the gathering and was devastated at the last minute 1-0 loss.
“Egypt has not qualified to play in the World Cup since 1990,” Mr Mena said.
“We have a very good team – especially player Mo Salah – he is the best player in UK Premier League football … unfortunately he was injured and missed this game.
“We played really well and challenged one of the best teams in the world.
“We still have hope and will play again on June 20 at 4am against Russia and Saudi Arabia later that month.”
