A simple yes could save a life

Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD) is urging people to join the Australian Organ Donor Register during DonateLife Week.
Since 2009, more than 10,000 Australians have had their lives saved as a result of a transplant.
In 2017, 1,675 lives were saved through the generosity of 510 deceased organ donors and their families and 273 living donors.
Today around 1,400 Australians and their families are waiting for the call that a life-saving organ has become available.
In Australia, the family will always be asked to confirm the donation decision of the deceased before donation for transplantation can proceed.
Families that have discussed and know each other’s donation decisions are much more likely to support organ and tissue donation.
Organ and tissue donation is the ultimate gift. You can save and improve the lives of many as an organ and tissue donor.
Make your decision count during DonateLife Week and register at donatelife.gov.au
