Westmead Hospital is often the nominated hospital to receive patients involved in a disaster or major trauma.

Recently our dedicated and caring emergency department staff were so disturbed by the news stories and vision of dry farming land that they decided to show their support.

They threw a spontaneous BBQ at lunchtime and raised more than $600 for the farmers fundraising appeal.

This money will be used to buy some bales of hay for the drought stricken farmers.

There are many charities fundraising to help the famers during this devastating period.
