Hospital staff sport jerseys on the job

Staff from Westmead Hospital’s cardiac rehabilitation ward are big supporters of Jersey Day.

If you’re visiting a Western Sydney Local Health District hospital or service today, you’re likely to spot a few jerseys around.

Hundreds of staff are wearing their favourite jersey on the job to show their support for Jersey Day, an initiative to raise awareness of the Organ and Tissue Authority and the DonateLife network.

Jersey Day was inspired by the story of Nathan Gremmo, who died in an accident in May 2015. His family chose to donate his organs to honour his legacy and generous personality.

Nooshin, Ondine, Sonia and Gilda are showing their support for Jersey Day in the renal outpatients clinic today.

Nathan’s farther Michael has thanked Western Sydney Local Health District for their support.

“Thank you all, appreciate the support,” Michael said.

Team photos of staff wearing jerseys can be sent to wslhd-media@health.nsw.gov.au to be considered for the Western Sydney Local Health District Facebook page.
