Choosing water instead of sugary drinks

Inayat Randhawa has penned a poem supporting the ‘swap sugar sweetened drinks for tap water” campaign.

Inspired and passionate about healthy living, 10-year-old Inayat Randhawa read about the district’s campaign to swap sugary drinks for healthier options in The Pulse.

The “swap sugar sweetened drinks for tap water” supporter agrees with the campaign and hopes other kids will follow this example.

By swapping one 375ml can of soft drink per day to water – in one month you can save more than $150 and reduce your waste-line by 37800 kilojoules and one kilogram of body fat

Inayat contacted the Pulse asking us to publish her poem:

SAY NO TO SUGARY DRINKS

Say no to sugary drinks

You and them do not link

Water, water is the best

Sugary drinks are a pest

Water gives you lots of energy

Sugary drinks makes you go crazy.

The benefits of water are

Your teeth become shining stars

Water also prevents headaches

But sugary drinks make bones break

They also make you obese

Sometimes they come with a disease

So say no to sugary drinks

You and them do not link
