Fresh coat of paint for Westmead Hospital helipad

Westmead Hospital’s busy helipad has been given a revamp, courtesy of the district’s capital works team.
Refurbishment work took place in August and September and included new helipad line marking.
Capital works director of capital works and asset maintenance Jonathan Darwen said the maintenance team had worked closely with the contractors and emergency services to ensure there was minimal disruption to services.
“The safety of our patients, visitors and staff are always our priority so we undertook a lot of work to ensure helicopters could continue to land safely during the work,” he said.
The helipad is located on top of the current Westmead Hospital.
A new helipad will be installed on the top level of the new hospital building as part of the Westmead Redevelopment project.
