Kids build friendships and enjoy being active at Go4Fun each week.
School aged children between 7 – 13 years in western Sydney are being encouraged to sign-up for a free, healthy lifestyle program, focused on making physical activity fun including one swimming pool based program.
Go4Fun has 6 programs available between 15 October – 15 December at Stanhope Gardens, Granville, Blacktown, Berala, Wentworthville and Baulkham Hills.
The programs help kids become fitter, healthier and happier through a range of activities including games, quizzes and a supermarket tour.
Western Sydney Local Health District’s Centre for Population Health deputy director Christine Newman said more than 1800 families had participated in the program since its launch in 2011.
“The free ten week program is really helping kids, and their parents, to make healthier choices,” she said.
“Sessions are two hours and held after school once a week during school terms.
“The program helps kids and their families adopt a positive, long lasting attitude towards food and exercise.
“Kids get to meet new friends and families learn tips on how to develop healthy everyday habits.”
