Auburn Hospital has received a major digital face-lift.

Auburn has gone live with a series of digital upgrades to the hospital’s clinical systems, the first facility in Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD) to be upgraded as part of the Digital Health Clinical Program.

The new systems span all areas of the hospital, from the Emergency Department to Operating Theatres.

“Auburn will have the full digital suite of applications for an urban hospital,” Chief Medical Information Officer A/Prof Naren Gunja said.

“They include the new FirstNet system in the Emergency Department, Surginet for surgery, and a new Anaesthesia Electronic Medical Record (eMR), all adding to the recent eFluids upgrade.”

It’s a big transformation that will roll out across all hospitals in WSLHD, hitting Blacktown, Mount Druitt and Westmead hospitals in 2019.

“It’s an exciting time – the implementation makes Auburn one of the most digitally advanced hospitals in NSW,” A/Prof Naren Gunja said.
