Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD) managers and staff are being encouraged to complete a new online training module to become inclusive for people with a disability to coincide with International Day of People with a Disability.

WSLHD People and Culture Workforce Effectiveness director Susan Scott said the NSW Public Service Commission has invested in this public sector training for WSLHD employees to promote stronger promotion for people with a disability.

“The NSW Public Service Commission survey showed people with disability report much higher rates of bullying and less engagement with their organisation than the broader workforce,” said Ms Scott.

“The e-learning training modules are available for managers and staff.

“We want people to complete both modules, the video comprises of people with a disability speaking about their experiences as a manager and a staff member.”

The theme for this year’s International Day of People with a Disability is empowering persons with disabilities and ensuring inclusiveness and equality.

The training module details will be provided shortly.
