Santa’s surprise visit to Auburn Hospital

Santa rewards patient Fadel Chaker with some gifts.

As a jolly big man with a white beard and a red suit made his way through Auburn Hospital, patients rubbed their eyes in disbelief or thought they were in the middle of a dream, soon realising it was in fact the man himself Santa and his helpers.

The early visit from Mr Claus spread cheer across the hospital with presents given to patients in the lead up to his busiest time of the year.

Auburn Hospital registered nurse Tracey Abraham is delighted to see Santa.

Santa was assisted by members from the Lidcombe Bunnings team who helped distribute the presents.

Auburn Hospital’s director of nursing and midwifery Kate Murphy said Christmas can be a busy time of the year.

Thank you Lidcombe Bunnings helpers Kathy, Yasemin, Santa Claus and Dee.

“Some of our patients will remain in hospital over the Christmas period, so it’s nice that they don’t miss out on the Christmas celebrations and activities,” Ms Murphy said.
