Improving our emergency management

Hospitals across Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD) will have a standardised emergency number as part of statewide changes to improve safety.
This change comes into effect on February 4, 2019.
As part of the change, WSLHD will change the number used to report emergencies.
WSLHD Counter Disaster Unit manager, Caren Friend said it was an important change for all staff to be aware of.
“Previously there has been no standard emergency number across public hospitals in NSW,” Caren said.
“This inconsistency had the potential to create confusion as many staff work across numerous hospitals.
“In order to improve safety, WSLHD along with all other NSW LHDs will be introducing the standard emergency number.”
Please note some exemptions do apply, so if you’re a WSLHD staff member, visit the Regular Dose via the intranet, to access the new emergency number and more information about the change.
