Mum’s praise for Mount Druitt Hospital: “the care was amazing”

Mckenna was treated at Mount Druitt Hospital this weekend.

A grateful mum has sent a heartfelt message to Western Sydney Local Health District’s Facebook page to express her thanks for the care provided to her four-month old daughter.

The mum said she couldn’t fault anything or any person.

“Just a message to say thank you and show my appreciation for the service and care we received at Mount Druitt Hospital,” Kayla Weeks said.

“We always hear about the negatives but very rarely about the good so I needed to share.

“My four-month-old daughter came in sick on Friday and the care was amazing.”

Kayla said her daughter Mckenna has a fever and wouldn’t drink her bottles.

“She had a really bad cough and kept choking on saliva and was really dehydrated and vomiting.

“She just wasn’t her normal happy self.

“The staff in emergency were so lovely and patient and outstanding with kids and the care they gave was very appreciative from us as parents.”

After being admitted to the children’s ward, Kayla said the staff were equally as helpful and “fantastic”.

“They all made us feel welcome and that our daughter was in great hands,” Kayla said.

“We spent two nights in there and I cannot fault anything or any person.

“Nurse Judy especially was fantastic always coming in to check on my daughter and if we needed anything and to have a chat with her, she loved making my little girl smile.

I just wanted to show our appreciation and say thank you. It’s not the easiest job but was handled so well not just for us but other patients as well.

I just wanted to let you guys know how appreciative we are,” Kayla said.
