Time to vote: who’s your favourite nurse or midwife?

We’re calling on staff and the community to nominate an outstanding nurse or midwife for a People’s Choice Award as part of this year’s International Nurses & Midwives Day celebrations.
International Nurses & Midwives Day is an annual celebration for the whole community to acknowledge and applaud the crucial contribution nurses and midwives make to our health service.
WSLHD executive director of nursing & midwifery and clinical governance Joanne Edwards said the People’s Choice award is an opportunity for everyone to reflect on the great experiences they’ve had with nurses and midwives.
“Each day nurses and midwives make a difference to the lives of patients, carers and their families,” Joanne said.
“If you know a nurse or midwife who has made a difference to your life, the life of your family member, or you work alongside this person, consider nominating them.”
The People’s Choice award winner will be recognised at Western Sydney Local Health District’s (WSLHD) International Nurses and Midwives Day Celebrations to be held on Tuesday 7 May 2018.

You can submit your nomination here. Patients, carers, family members or staff members are encouraged nominate.
The WSLHD nurse or midwife must work for a WSLHD facility (Auburn, Cumberland, Mount Druitt, Blacktown, Westmead hospitals or a WSLHD community centre).
Voting closes Friday 15 March at 5pm.
