Light rail works in Westmead and Parramatta

Site investigation works for the Parramatta Light Rail project have kicked off in Westmead and the Parramatta CBD.
Workers will be testing small patches on the road or footpath, to identify underground services and utilities.
The Parramatta Light Rail project will connect Westmead to Carlingford via Parramatta CBD and Camelia.
A post on the Parramatta Light Rail Facebook page says that the works will ‘help us finalise our design and program work for main construction to ensure we get in and out of areas as quickly as possible.’
Works will be carried out at:
– Westmead: Hawkesbury Road, between Railway Parade and Hainsworth Street, and on Hainsworth Street
– Parramatta: Church Street, between Market and Macquarie Streets, and on Macquarie Street, between Church and Smith Streets.
Temporary traffic and pedestrian controls will be in place, so please follow the directions of signs and traffic controllers.
