Nurse-themed cake says heartfelt thanks

Fagnano family bakes a masterpiece for Mount Druitt Hospital palliative and supportive care unit staff.

A cake sculpted in the shape of a nurses uniform complete with a stethoscope, watch, scissors, medications and a syringe has been presented to staff as a heartfelt thanks.

Nurse unit manager Trish Dalgleish said the handmade cake was a token of appreciation after their family member was cared for in Mount Druitt Hospital’s palliative and supportive care unit.

The patient had been transported from Blacktown Hospital to Mount Druitt Hospital for end of life care.

“We thank the Fagnano family for this masterpiece cake,” Trish said.

“It actually looks too good to eat and I’m tempted to keep it for display – but I’m sure someone will want a piece real soon.”
