The countdown is on: Network 10’s new factual series One Born Every Minute Australia, filmed entirely at Westmead Hospital, is due on Tuesday, 22 October at 8.30pm.
This emotional fly-on-a-wall series follows the journey of expectant couples, their support teams and the midwives as new families are created.
Each of the glorious and unpredictable moments of child birth from the bath tub to the operating room are captured via 60 remote operated cameras that record 24/7, ensuring nothing about the experience is missed.
Westmead Hospital’s women’s health director Donna Garland said each episode will take the audience on a roller coaster of emotion.
“Birth is such a special and powerful moment,” Donna said.
“We are so thankful to all the mums and dads who not only let us be part of their story but are willing to share with Australia in such intimate detail.”
In an announcement issued by Network 10 today, the show is described as ‘raw, real and incredibly emotional’.
One Born Every Minute Australia is made by Endemol Shine Australia and distributed globally by Endemol Shine International.
Created by Dragonfly, part of Endemol Shine UK, this award-winning documentary series has now been adapted in 10 markets including France, Denmark, Czech Republic and Israel.
