Join the stars of One Born Every Minute

Blacktown Hospital registered midwives Stephanie Chon Su, Marney Atkins-Smith, Bridget McCaffrey, Maria Guy and Juliana Oyeduntan.

Through the laughter, tears, anxiety and joy, midwives are there every step of the way to support mums while they bring the miracle of life into the world – as captured on the unmissable TV phenomenon One Born Every Minute.

Now you have a chance to join the unrivalled team at Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD) and be a vital part of the incredible birth process.

Blacktown Hospital’s multi-award winning Women’s and Children’s Health Services has recently been significantly expanded and is seeking seven registered midwives to join the team.

The visually-stunning $700 million hospital redevelopment includes brand-new birthing suites that were designed with input from mums and midwives to create the best environment possible, including plenty of features to encourage active labour.

Blacktown Hospital welcomed 3,626 babies into the world last year – an average of 10 every day, making it a dynamic and exciting place to work in baby-booming Western Sydney.

Applicants will be part of a highly-skilled and diverse team committed to providing the best care possible in every circumstance, supported by a redesigned newborn care ward and more carer zones.

WSLHD employees are held to a high professional standard but also supported to pursue their dreams beyond work, and Blacktown Hospital midwife and competitive figure skater Georgia Duff can attest.

We are looking for people with great interpersonal and communication skills, who can work well in a multidisciplinary team and are committed to continuing professional development.
