Cleaning staff host mega baby shower at Westmead Hospital

Baby fever has taken over General Services as the staff celebrate an in-house baby boom set for January.

Cleaning staff Priyankaben Patel and Smithprabha “Smithy” Patel met working at Westmead Hospital and now the duo are both expecting an extra addition to their families.

To celebrate the joyous occasion, Ljubica Simic and fellow staff organised a baby shower for the ladies to enjoy with food, cake and presents being shared.

General Services manager Raynelle Howat said the shower was a beautiful event and both the ladies enjoyed the celebrations.

“This job has many highs and lows, so when there is a chance to celebrate the good and celebrate our people, we go for it” Raynelle said.

“It was such a wonderful baby shower,” Smithprabha said.

More than 20 staff came out to join the celebrations and wish the ladies luck on their journey.

“We have such a diverse group of people working for us in General Services and I think it is really important to celebrate their milestones,” Raynelle said.

“We wish the girls nothing but the best over the next few months and can’t wait to have them back on the team.”
