COVID-19 statistics for NSW, April 10

As at 8pm, Thursday 9 April 2020, an additional 49 cases of COVID-19 have been diagnosed, since 8pm 8 April, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in NSW to 2,822.

There are currently 211 COVID-19 cases being treated by NSW Health. This includes 29 cases in Intensive Care Units, and 23 of these require ventilators.
A further 4,444 people were tested for COVID-19 in the 24 hours to 8pm Wednesday 8 April 2020, a 14 per cent increase from the 24 hours before (3906).
A 69-year-old man, confirmed to have COVID-19, has died in John Hunter Hospital, Newcastle. He likely acquired his disease interstate, with no known links to previously confirmed cases
NSW Health extends its condolences to his family.
There are 11 confirmed cases associated with Vista Windows workplace in Preston NSW, with 5 cases in staff and 6 cases linked to staff cases. The workplace is closed.
Cruise ship voyages into Sydney linked to confirmed COVID-19 cases: the Ovation of the Seas which docked 18 March (98 passengers), the Voyager of the Seas which docked 18 March (37 passengers + 6 crew members), the Celebrity Solstice which docked 19 March (17 passengers) and the Ruby Princess which docked 19 March (364 passengers + 21 crew members). There have been 6 deaths in NSW associated with the Ruby Princess.
NSW Health is alerting passengers who were close contacts on flights to monitor for symptoms, and contact their GP, but call ahead first, or call healthdirect on 1800 022 222, or visit a NSW Health COVID-19/Flu assessment clinic should they become unwell.
